Gloucester wedding photographers

I’m Lewis; A top Gloucester wedding photographer based near Cheltenham. A modern and documentary approach with a supporting nature throughout.

Focus on the moments that matter most—those spectacular celebrations and grandma dazzling on the dance floor! I adore photographing weddings in Gloucestershire, capturing the essence of your day as it unfolds. Each image is naturally enhanced and colour-corrected so you can relive the magic, today, in a year, or even a decade later—just as you remember the joy of your wedding day!

I capture the joy of your guests throughout the day. Those delightful ‘moments between moments’ unexpected and raw are the heart of my storytelling throughout. Starting 2-3 hours before the ceremony, I photograph all details. I remain until well after the first dance at (least an hour), embracing the late-night revelry and shenanigans. The sounds of family catching-up after some time apart, laughter and good vibes all captured too to complete your gallery.

I’ve created this page to share with you some of the recent wedding photography & Videography in the Gloucestershire that I have captured recently.

“He was friendly, helpful and responsive throughout the booking process, and was also super fun to have around on the day. He definitely went above and beyond his duties as a photographer on the day – he truly got involved with all of it and helped us to coordinate everything!”

Whether you can imagine having magical wedding photography at Elmore Court, a sustainable driven wedding venue. Or a more relaxed event with your ceremony in front of a large warm open fire, Stone Barn is the one along with the equally gorgeous. You could be looking at the most amazing space that is the Old Gore, Yard Space wedding photography too for those who love to be more adventurous. Imagine a gallery filled full of everyone’s emotions from the best day of your life captured exactly as you expect by me!

Other wedding venues in Gloucestershire that I love working at are:

The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury; Ivy Lodge, Yardspace on the Bathurst Estate; Brinsop Court Manor surrounded by a moat; Hyde House, Stow on the Wold; Hilles House with a gorgeous view over the countryside.

I am also familiar with other local venues including the beautifully restored and renovated Barn at Upcote, and the 18th century Lapstone Barn which is exclusively yours during your entire wedding day. I’m also looking forward to more weddings at Shustoke Barn in the Summer

The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury is also an incredible wedding venue with many period and authentic features. Have you also thought about your wedding photography at the Kingscote Barn, which is an award winning venue in it’s own valley with rolling hills creating a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding photography.

In my opinion, you’re spoilt for choice with outstanding venues here, no matter which venue you’ve decided to set your hearts on, I can capture the celebrations to be highest standard for you to relive, as you remember for decades to come.

What will you be like at our wedding?

“It’s all about the celebration on a wedding day… But it’s always nice to fully document your family, guests and friends. No one likes posing but to appease parents it’s nice to capture a few group photos on your wedding day without feeling like you’re forcing a smile. That’s why I limit group photos to a short time, a small handful is enough of your family and that’s it! I like to capture the rest of your guests in my natural candid style throughout the day when everyone is looking their best and in great spirits… Less time posing and certainly more time drinking and celebrating!”

“Portraits aren’t about holding each other like this or duplicating an image like that. It’s about you, your feelings and your emotion on your wedding day. Taking up to 30 minutes, your portraits will be natural, relaxed and an opportunity for you to stroll to a quiet spot where you’ll have full reign to be yourselves and get excited together, it’s about documenting just those moments.”

Abigail & Lewys – Gloucester wedding

The amount you spend on a wedding photographer in the Gloucester area can vary widely, it depends on many factors such as experience, level of service you require for your wedding day, the type of coverage you’d prefer and how long you’d like them there with you.

You can expect to pay between £1900 to £4000 for a good pro wedding photographer. This usually includes experienced coverage to be with you at your wedding for 10-12 hours. It’s also worth noting that additional costs might include travel, accommodation and physical photo album orders.

It’s important to remember that your photographer in the Gloucestershire is an important investment. You should maximise your budget in this area. They will be responsible for capturing the essence and energy of your wedding, they will photograph the details and special moments through your day. In time to come, when your memory fades, your wedding photography will be the only main representation of your wedding to look back on, memories should not be compromised.

Most photographers will cap their coverage at 10 hours. This will cover most of the wedding day including preparations, ceremony, reception, speeches and the first dance.

My coverage includes no time restrictions; I believe it’s important to be with you to cover the whole day including the moments ‘after dark’ on the dance floor and your ‘sparkler send off  too. No couple should worry about moments missed and therefore it leaves you with one less thing to think about.

It’s important to make you feel comfortable and relaxed, planning a wedding is a lot of work. I like to check-in with you both and discuss your plans from time to time. From the moment you enquire to beyond your gallery being delivered, I’m there to help support and guide you should you wish, being more than just a wedding photographer.

In the last 2 months ahead of your wedding, you should have understood how to plan your wedding day timeline and we’ll discuss the timings of the day and highlight any areas that might need a little adjustment to ensure you have the most incredible day!

Yes! That being said, every wedding is completely different and each unique. Many things affect a wedding such as ceremony location and weather. If the venue is somewhere I haven’t photographed that’s ok, I’ll arrange with the venue to visit weeks / months in advance for a look around and I’ll also arrive a little earlier than normal to familiarise myself with the co-ordinators and enjoy the grounds of your gorgeous Gloucestershire wedding venue!

Having photographed weddings for 8 years, I have attended over 270 weddings and gained experience that I will also call upon throughout the day. Ultimately, my priority will always be with you and my coverage will adapt to the lighting on the day.

It’s also a great opportunity to consider having a pre-wedding photo session at your venue too. Something you can include within your package.

Most wedding photographers will deliver your wedding photography gallery back within 4-12 weeks.

By limiting the amount of weddings I photograph each year, I’m able to deliver a large handful of previews after a few days, with your full complete gallery delivered at 5 weeks after your wedding, never any later. We will then go ahead and design and order your album right away after that, to relive your special day, time and time again.

You should expect to receive 50 images for every hour a photographer is present at your wedding in the UK. That being said, you should expect a quality and balanced photographic coverage of your wedding day without expecting a particular amount of images. Usually for 10-12 hours you should be confident of 500-600 images within your online gallery.

A photographer could quote to provide more images than the average of around 600; However, you should be mindful that moments can be over photographed and too many similar images of a moment will contribute to the additional image total. This method will not likely add more variety of moments throughout the day.

First you need to consider which season you’re deciding to get married in. Other things to think about is how many guests you will be hosting, or what type of wedding and look are you thinking of going with. Overall, there are too many variables to answer this outright. However, some of my favourite venues that I’ve recently worked at are:

  1. Old Gore by Yard Space Events
  2. Hyde House
  3. Elmore Court
  4. Stone Barn, Cripps & Co
  5. Kingscote Barn
  6. Clearwell Castle

The best thing you can do is to visit the venue, ask lots of questions and spend time looking around the grounds; This will help you to understand if your vision for your wedding day fits at the venue.

If you’re planning your Gloucestershire wedding and you’re still looking for your photographer then please get in touch. I’d be delighted to help you where I can and help realise your vision for your wedding day.
