The farm
A restored farm in the Monmouthshire hills.
Llantilio House is a Grade II listed farm at Llantilio Crossenny, between Abergavenny and Monmouth. It sits in two hundred acres of farmland, with terraces of wildflowers running down to the River Trothy and the Black Mountains on the horizon. The whole farm is yours for the wedding, and up to twenty of your guests can stay with you.
Mornings happen in the farmhouse, in rooms full of soft window light. Ceremonies take place in the barn or out on the lawn, drinks spill across the farmyard and around the pool, and dinner and dancing are back in the barn under the beams.
I have photographed here since early 2024, from the open day to summer weddings in full sun. I know where the evening light lands in the fields, how the pool reflects the sky, and how to get everyone down the stone steps for confetti without it feeling like a drill.

How I’d photograph it

01 · The morning
The farmhouse and its windows.
Hair and make-up happen in the farmhouse bedrooms, which fill with soft light all morning. I move between the two of you, catching the first look at the dress and the quiet bits in between, without moving furniture or slowing anyone down.
02 · The ceremony
On the lawn, or in the barn.
On a dry day most couples marry outside on the lawn with the farmhouse behind them. If the weather turns, the barn takes over. Either way I work from the sides and the back, with no flash and nothing staged.
03 · The walk
The fields, the lane, the old tree.
Twenty minutes while your guests have drinks in the farmyard. Out along the lane, into the fields and round by the old tree. If the evening is clear we go out again for ten minutes at golden hour. That is where most of the pictures on this page come from.
04 · The evening
Speeches, the barn, the dance floor.
Dinner and speeches at long tables in the barn, then the band or the DJ. I stay through the first dance and well into the night, and if the food truck turns up at ten, so do I.

Getting there
Between Abergavenny and Monmouth
The farm is at Llantilio Crossenny, about fifteen minutes from both Abergavenny and Monmouth. Travel is included, so there is no mileage on the invoice and no late arrival.
Weather
The barn is the wet-weather plan
The barn and the farmhouse both photograph well without a step outside. If the rain eases for ten minutes, the fields after a shower and the pool under a grey sky are worth the dash.
Timings
The last hour before sunset
The fields catch the last of the sun beautifully on a clear evening. I will build a short walk into your timeline so you are back with your guests before anyone notices you were gone.

What if it rains on the day?
Then the barn and the farmhouse do the work. The pictures are different, not worse, and if the rain stops for ten minutes we will make the most of it.
Will you film the day too?
Yes. Many couples book photography and film together. One calm presence, one approach, and a short film alongside the full gallery. How photo and film work together.
How long until we see our photographs?
A set of previews within a day or two, and the full gallery of 500 or more edited images within four weeks. Films follow within eight.
