Clare & Ben | Coed y Mwstwr Wedding Photography, South Wales
Coed y Mwstwr hosted the Stormy yet stunning wedding of Clare & Ben in October. Storm Brian had made an appearance. Unfortunately blowing most of the autumnal coloured leaves away stripping the trees of it’s canopy… Along with any hopes of oranges and yellows as backdrops to their wedding photography.
Despite the weather Clare and Ben were both super excited for the day, needn’t give the weather any attention! It’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day didn’t you know?! As much as I was a little gutted, I’d pictured scenes and had epic ideas planned, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Instead, with a little creativity, we managed to capture a magical and incredible moment, freezing rain in the darkness which is the main image of the blog.
Fire lit, alcohol in hand and many a conversation exchanged as the light nerves creep over ahead of the speeches. The reception underway inside in the warmth, away from the rain and gales blowing outside. I particularly found myself laughing along at times to Bens very funny speech, it was original, sincere and cleverly ‘borrowed’. It’s a particular highlight of the day for me and I always look forward to documenting it and the natural reactions of their guests.

The rest of the evening ensued, the dance floor was a go, music spilling from the speakers and the guys already busting moves, a warm-up ahead of the bride & grooms ‘first dance’ which quickly followed dancing to Jackie Wilson’s Higher & Higher! No soon after did the dance floor fill up and a real party continued into the late night!
