Welsh St Donats & Holm House wedding photography | Cecily & Jamie

Welsh St Donats & Holm House was the most perfect setting for the wedding of Cecily & Jamie in September. Having met Cecily & Jamie over a year ago. We instantly got on and laughed and chatted through the whole initial meeting, a recipe for success for sure! Meeting and catching up once again for their pre-wedding photo shoot in the Vale of Glamorgan which you can see here.

On the morning of the wedding, I joined Cecily and the bridesmaids at her parents home in the Vale of Glamorgan. The girls already in turn as I arrived having their make-up and hair dressed. Prosseco in hand and excitement in the air. Cecily’s brother Will their her dad Les were out in the village attaching designated car park spaces on the village sign posts. Maps carefully drawn, arranged and printed to hand out via the ushers as guests arrived.

I was made to feel part of the family. Conversation like old friends and catering to my poor taste of tea (very milky by the way). Joined with lots of conversation about the wedding including chat of Cecily’s older sisters wedding in May 2018. A lovely thought to see the family over again!

A short walk to the church, Welsh St Brides. Les, Cecily’s dad walked The bride and her bridesmaids to the church passing the village locals as they wished them well. The church bell rang and violins played out The newly married Mr & Mrs Morgan walked out of the doors to Welsh St Donats. Poised and waiting, their guests lining the path with confetti.

It was onto Holm House in Penarth for their reception and the rest of their wedding. Canapés served in the late summer sun, garden games played while laughter and celebration was present. Their reception theme was clean and pure white with touches of green and plenty of floral decorations. Handmade by the wedding party the details carefully crafted with handwritten calligraphy delicately created by the bridesmaid Kate.

The setting sun was a perfect opportunity to dash across the road to the coastal path for a few minutes. The sun, low as the September light shined in a golden hue. Setting a magical and elegant surrounding backdrop to their walk.
