Buckland Hall wedding | Hannah & Gareth | South Wales Wedding Photography
Buckland Hall in Brecon was the ideal venue for a fairytale wedding such as Hannah & Gareth’s big day. Set in the breathtaking Brecon Beacons National Park. The venue is nestled away in the valley overlooking a vast area of countryside, icy cold fresh water river and of course the beacons in the distance. The morning was cold, with a short crisp crunch underfoot, without a cloud in the sky, the weather couldn’t have been any better.
I first met Hannah in the bridal suit surrounded by her bridesmaids, mum and the hair and make-up team. Cool and collected, Hannah was excited for the day ahead with the schedule running ahead of time. Gareth was still recovering from the night before when I met him. A final celebration before the exchange of vows with his best men. Given the location of the venue, and with extra time on my hands, I decided to explore the venue a little more. Having only visited in the afternoon previously, Buckland Hall is shown in a completely different light. With the beacons in the distance warmly glowing from the early sun, highlighting the beauty of the surroundings.
Lewis was amazing and we knew straight away that he understood us and exactly what we wanted. He made us feel so comfortable and we always knew we were in great hands. We have the most beautiful images to remember such a fantastic day! Thank you so much Lewis – you nailed it! We can’t recommend Lewis enough!– Hannah & Gareth
With the day well underway, guests joined the newly married couple under the archway to be delivered by tossings of dry flowered confetti above… and the obligatory handful of in the face. I too had my fair share over me and in my shirt. With the warmth of the two open fires burning away, prising guests away for a group photo in the cold was of course, going to present a challenge. Sure enough, the group photographs complete. The bride, groom and I headed out onto the lawn to capture their portrait session. With the backdrop of the stunning Autumn / Winter colors with the remaining leaves glowing in a low winter light.
Following a very moving reception by the speakers of the wedding party, we headed out to ‘play’ with the sparklers that Hannah had been thoroughly looking forward to. What an amazing experience, when a cluster of sparklers suddenly lit surrounding the bridal party perfectly! Soon enough it was time for the most amazing ending to the night at any wedding I’ve photographed, fireworks! From the moment I knew, almost 2 years ago I was thoroughly looking forward to this moment. For those who don’t know, I love fireworks, stars and the sky. To combine a cosmos theme wedding with fireworks and the countryside , of course, I was in my element! Their wedding was a beautiful jam packed day and I would jump at the chance do it all again!
