Best Wedding Photography 2022 | Lewis Fackrell

Ohh hello old friend! It’s that time of year again… The anticipated roundup of what I perceive as my best work and favourite moments from weddings I’ve photographed in 2022. It actually took 5 hours to scan through over 40,526k images, I scheduled an hour (doh!). Blimey, it’s been a year. Due to the pandemic, postponements from the previous 2 years made up over half of my work this year, on top of a busy year already… Many couples bursting to get their wedding celebrations started and they felt like they haven’t stopped until today.

Best wedding photography

When you think you’ve learned something, you find out that you’ve not even scratched the surface. This year has taught me a huge amount, specifically within my work, my relationship with how I photograph people and moments, but also, how I approach life. Weddings and particularly parents of brides, parents of grooms, the bride, the groom, guests and suppliers have all spoken words that at first may not have seemed like much but later on develop to become a lasting effect on me.

Weddings are a privilege, to be able to photograph the core of family and friend dynamics, listening to fond memories, personalised vows and to document these relationships is simply incredible. I say similar each year albeit with different words, but it really is true, weddings are amazing to experience time and time again.

We cannot recommend Lewis enough. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with since our initial enquiry. He was patient and understanding during all our covid nightmares and rearrangements and was amazing with us, our guests and all our suppliers on the day.

The photos are exactly what we wanted, really relaxed natural and showed us and all our guests having a great time. Thank you for being part of our day, we will treasure our photos for a lifetime! – Nicole & Evan

Safe to say that next year won’t be as busy, phew and it’s time for me to work back to normal levels especially as we’ll be introducing our first baby in February too! A message on a wall I saw recently stuck with me – ‘You can only know the strength of something by how much pressure it can withstand’; This year has been all about that, because every couple who’s had to postpone over and over again has patiently awaited their special day with many moments of disappointment and rearranging in preparation, they deserved their big day and I was there to photograph it, the wait was totally worth it.

Before I digress, I want to share with you my slideshow of my favourite moments from 2022 as a wedding photographer in the Cotswolds and South Wales and I highly encourage you to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I’m looking forward to 2023 and excited to start talking about your wedding plans for 2024 too! Please get in touch to check my availability for your wedding.
