Best wedding photography in South Wales and Cotswold

Best wedding photography 2019 | Lewis Fackrell Photography

I think this year I’ll let the photos do the talking… Less waffle and more “ohh’ing” and “Ahh’ing” instead! My 2019 ‘Year in Review’ is complete!

I must say a bloody huge thank you yet again to every couple that books me to photograph their wedding. Trusting me with one of the most important parts of the wedding. Every single wedding I still get nervous believe it or not. I thrive on the small pressure of not fully knowing exactly how the day will turn out, the editing and the result of revealing the photos to the couple at the end of the whole process… Ultimately, it’s incredibly full-filling and rewarding.

I’ve delivered over 28,000 photos, documented 40 amazing couples with the most personal stories and some pretty damn epic wedding days with tons of one-off blink and you miss moments. It has been an interesting year. Naturally some challenges to overcome, huge successes, some personal achievements completed including finishing an Olympic distance triathlon and well (huge hunger for more), and everything else in between. I also entered my 30’s – Bring it on!

You can click play on the video below to watch the highlights reel I’ve created all in one go (2:44m) OR you can scroll beyond it and choose to take your own time reviewing the images. But definitely leave a comment at the bottom.

My First Award!!

2019 saw me win the Welsh National Wedding Photographer of the Year for the South East region which was a huge motivation booster and a humbling reminder of how the couples I photography feel.

I always get a little anxious in anticipation to see if I made the short list. There’s more wedding photographers than you can imagine in South Wales and so to be shortlisted down to 5 is a task I don’t envy. Despite the fierce competition that daily pushes me harder and stronger, I need not worry of course as I know the effort I put into my business is the absolute maximum, equally the service I aim to deliver is as high.

To have my name called out at the annual awards was a little shock… I missed my name first time as I was in disbelief. It’s fair to say it’s pushed me even harder to perfect what I do for each and every couple. Not only did I get recognised by The Welsh National Wedding Awards, I was also a Finalist for the South West in The Wedding Industry Awards which is an even bigger event and the competition in my opinion is just beyond and another level… To be named in the list was again was great, especially as I seek inspiration from some of the names I was up against.  What a buzz!

Cheers Joab, I try not to take it all too seriously. The music choice is always the hardest decision – beat matching ?
