Mansion house, Llansteffan | Wedding of Rhian & Mark | South Wales wedding photographer
Set on the garden of Mansion house in June, the wedding of Rhian & Mark was truly beautiful. Stunning back drop of Llansteffan estuary and the Gower in the distance, the weather was absolutely perfect. Making use of the local castle ruins, something Rhian insisted on utilising from the moment she booked her photography. I met Rhian at her family farm house where she grew up as a child and young adult, the images present on the walls gave a sense of pride and sense of achievement as she aged over the years. Sadly as her grandmother couldn’t make the wedding we headed to the care home where she stayed waiting, gasping in amazement as she was presented a beautiful bride before her, tears rolling down her face in joy and happiness.
A first for me, an outdoor ceremony, it was simply perfect and amazing, couldn’t have asked for anything else, as Rhian made her entrance to Mansion house on a red tractor alongside her father, you really could sense the tradition and heritage in the farming family. Milk earns, a tractor and set in the countryside everything needed for such a theme. Beautiful readings and harp playing commenced during the ceremony whilst vows and rings exchanged… “I now pronounce you MR & MRS HANSON JONES”.
Shortly followed by glasses of fizz was the group photos and photos of the new married couple which was set with the most amazing backdrop of Llansteffan castle on the edge of the hill. As onlookers gazed on at Rhian & Mark as they expressed their love and happiness for one another as they embraced and held each other so beautifully on the castle wall. Naturally and carefully I documented just this, capturing the beginning of their joy radiating from their souls.
Never have I experienced such a funnier speech than that of Rhian’s brother, detailed, hilarious and of course all true. Shortly followed on from the wedding breakfast and speeches we headed to the beach where her other brother had their wedding photographs taken, keeping with tradition we did just that, the sun setting, sea lapping so gently and a light breeze over the sands in the background, setting a majestic backdrop once again for their photos.
Rhian & Mark really were a perfect couple to photograph, naturally composed, anticipating my thoughts with ease allowing me to document them with little to no direction. Not to mention the easy on the eye venue, that of Mansion house that helped with the backdrop. Thank you for booking me and I truly wish you both all the best for the future and whatever that may bring.
